This film is the recollection of a dying man, Lem, who spent some time during the Second World War in Macedonia in an orphanage - in the reality of an institution designed in the spirit of communist ideology to re-educate the children of dead enemies. The dramatic story captures young Lem's relationship with his "mysterious" companion from childhood, Isak.
