Summary

This romantic comedy based on the book of the same name by Czech writer Michal Viewegh consists of the stories of two women – twenty-year old Laura, an editor of a weekly magazine for women and her widowed mother Jana, an interpreter and translator. Both women are looking for “Mr Right”. Jana avoids Czech men and seeks the dreamy foreigner because relationships with “typical” Czechs never led anywhere. That’s why she resists the gallantry of Žemla the neighbour. After a few unsuccessful relationships Laura falls in love with an advertising agency employee the forty-year-old Oliver, not suspecting that Oliver was her mother’s love twenty years before.
