Irena loves Fred and wants to get married as soon as possible. Fred also wants to get married. The problem lies in the fact that Irena is rich and Fred is deep in debt, so deep that he cannot even to afford to pay his chauffeur or his tailor. Nonetheless, Fred does have a lover, Lolotta, who creates a huge scene when she reads the announcement of Fred's engagement to Irena in a magazine Fred calms her down with a cynical promise that, after his wedding to Irena, he will finally have enough money to fulfil all Lolotta's wishes. A friend leaks word of Fred's illicit relationship with Lolotta to Irena. Irena does not want to believe it, but later decides that she must find out for herself. In disguise she is hired as Fred's chauffeur and soon afterwards finds that her friend was telling the truth. And when Fred takes Lolotta on a drive she drives them off the edge of a cliff in her despair. All three of them perish in the accident.
The final scene was shot with the help of a car model produced at the Czech-Moravian Car Factory.
