A film director is finishing his screenplay. The actors enter the garden of his villa. The first page of the script bears the title: The Confession Box. Two friends, an artist and a writer are walking in the cloisters of a monastery. The writer wants to demonstrate to his friend the mystery of the cloister echoes. In so doing he overhears part of a confession given by a woman and he relises that the voice is his wife's as she confesses to infidelity. The friends leave the monastery, followed by a mysterious woman in a veil. The writer goes into his bedroom - a man's shape is outlined under the bedclothes. He tells his wife that he had heard her confession. He commands that the unknown man resolve the situation with honour... A shot rings out and the woman goes back into the bed chamber. The dead man is his friend, the artist. The writer assures his wife that he was only trying out his new Browning, he gives the key of the bedroom to the valet and he desparts with his wife. - The actors are sitting round a table in the director's garden reading the end of the screenplay.
The film was made on location at the villas of Isida Pruszinská and Dr Mellan.
