A mother arrives in the court room bringing her daughter in a wheelchair. The judge has to ascertain to what extent the driver of the lorry which injured her is guilty. The testimonies of the witnesses, the little girl and the driver finally indicate that the accident was more a combination of unfortunate circumstances in which all participants played a role. A cart carrying straw and drawn by horses was coming in the opposite direction near the middle of the road. When a man on a bicycle tried to overtake the wide cart, the lorry driver swerved his lorry to the edge of the road where the little girl was playing in a squat position. The vehicle hit her before the driver was aware of it. He was only stopped by a woman who had witnessed the accident from a nearby field. The judge declares the driver innocent.
