The film shows in detail recorded scenes which demonstrate different tasks required of waiters in various positions - in a winebar, coffee-house, factory canteen and in a luxury hotel. A young boy who has decided to train as a waiter learns about different table settings, dishes and tableware. He learns how to carry food professionally and how to open a new keg of beer. Following the example of the waiter Josef, who visits dubious bars at night, plays cards and the next day at work is tired and unfocused on his work, thus an example of a negative approach is shown to this responsible form of employment.
This is the last fufeature film made at the studios in Radlice.
