A screenwriter is to think up a story for a film about the collection of refuse and recycling materials. He turns to the classics and, in a book by Jan Neruda, he finds a feuilleton about the difficulties a writer and his housekeeper have trying to get rid of the old straw from a straw mattress. The screenwriter comes to the conclusion that, in his day, such a problem would not exist since the value of secondary raw materials is well known and thus a mass collection of paper, clothing and textiles, iron and other refuse is organized in March and April 1947.
