Two milling operators work together in a factory workshop. The older one comes to work half an hour earlier and works very hard. The younger one fools around at work. The older operator reminds him that they have a very demanding plan to fulfil. He has a feeling that the younger worker is indolent so he takes away his Party badge during a quarrel. The young man is really taken aback by the event and is thinking everything over at home. He then sits all night over a project for a new drill. In the workshop, he tries his invention out and proudly demonstrates it to the older colleague. Now they will be able to fulfil the plan. The old milling operator gives him back his badge with a smile.
The film was made to honour the 9th Czechoslovak Communist Party Congress.
