Newly-wed Marie is preparing her first lunch. Her loving husband Karlíček doesn't know anything about her cooking and is very much looking forward to it. The husband's uncle Ondřej has also been invited to lunch. He arrives but says that he sorely regrets that he cannot eat anything because he has to go for a stomach x-ray. But he still sits down at the table. The wife brings in one delicious-looking course after another and her husband enjoys the results of her endeavours. The uncle confesses to having made up the story about the x-ray since he was afraid of what Marie might produce. Thus he receives his own portion. Marie, blushing from the praise, tells them her secret. She shows them both a serviette saying: "Help for housewives. A large assortment of ready-made cuisine brought to your door by Prague City's Communal Hospitality Services".
