Looking for a shoe-repair shop, the students Jana and Alena discover a closed down shop on a Lesser Town's street. They decide to rent the space and fix it up as a small flat. They speak about it enthusiastically in the college and their roommate Mirka listens carefully. Unlike her friends, Mirka is married and she is very sad that her husband Vašek lives elsewhere. Without revealing to her husband where she got the information, she persuades him to apply together to get the old shop. They meet early in the morning and quickly fix everything with the officials. Jana and Alena can't forgive the betrayal and there is a nasty quarrel and even a slap in the face. But the two girls change their mind right after they discover a baby's coat at the room hostel. They clean and fix the space for their pregnant colleague and her husband and the young couple happily move into their first ever flat.
