Student Jana is invited on a first date by her fellow-student Miloš. They are going to meet at half past three at Little Square. Jana is restless and leaves her house already at three o'clock. Her mother, not suspecting anything, believes that her daughter is going to a girlfriend's house. She asks Jana to buy her some coffee on the way back. When she gets to the building's hall Jana takes off her ordinary sweater under which she is wearing a smart blouse, changes into a new pair of shoes and puts on some lipstick. She doesn't want to come too early so she walks around Old Town. She refuses the advances of a young shop-assistant in a grocery and the courting of an older dandy. She bumps into the greengroces František's wooden carriage by accident and causes an unwanted commotion among people. She finally has to run across several streets so as to casually walk over to the meeting-place where Miloš is already waiting.
