A crowd of people inside a crammed shoe shop enables a pickpocket to steal a wallet, a watch and a bottle of soda-water... The action is interrupted and the lecturer points out that customers get robbed without noticing. The butcher can cheat while selling you the meat, both in its weight and in its quality. The textile salesman can masterfully measure a shorter length of textile than you have asked for. It seems that these are only small items but when more customers are cheated it can even add up to enough to buy a car. The lecturer invites the spectators to pay good attention to the dishonest salespeople.
