In Moldava in the Ore Mountains, a group of geologists searches for tin ore. They live and eat in a small hotel headed by widower Martin, helped by his seventeen-year old daughter Božka. Božka falls in love with driver Gába and tries to stop his frequent trips to visit girls in a nearby city with various "intentional acts". Gába first does not show any interest in the girl, but gradually begins to succumb to her youthful innocent love and one day kisses her. He, however, again spends the evening with an accidental acquaintance. Upon his return, he sadly watches Božka and her friends dancing at a party. When the party is over, Gába finds the girl in his room. At that instant, he realizes he really loves her, but nevertheless sends her away. When he wakes up in the morning, the little hotel is empty. Everybody has gone to the railway station to say good-bye to Božka leaving for Prague to study. Gába runs after them, but it is already too late...
