Sixteen-year old Hanka is suffering the confusions of the first stirrings of love. She is smitten with the undergraduate Pavel Horák but doesn't know how to approach him. Pavel is also attracted to the serious girl, but he is equally shy and self-conscious. This is why their every meeting ends up in mutual disappointment, insecurity and a feeling of being threatened. Hanka is jealous of Olina, who kisses Pavel in the euphoria after her favourite football club scores a goal. Pavel, on the other hand, doesn't like the fact that the extrovert medical student Dáda is sweet-talking Hanka. One afternoon, the couple manage to set free from the group and have a wonderful time together walking and going to the planetarium. In the evening, Pavel tries to kiss Hanka but the girl angrily backs away. Miserable, Pavel returns home. His little sister Bodula senses his trouble and explains Hanka's behaviour to him in an uncomplicated childish way. After Pavel leaves, Hanka realizes she has made a mistake and goes to look for Pavel. When she meets him in town, she overcomes her embarrassment and kisses the boy.
