Two students are developing a film in the darkroom, boast about their dubious knowledge and make fun of their fellow student, Radka, who knows nothing. They turn the lights on but are not pleased with the film. They dislike Radka's hairstyle as well, although she paid the hairdresser sixty crowns for it. They fail yet again in their attempt to develop the film - there is nothing at all on it. Milena, the class beauty, comes to the darkroom. Radka admires her hair. Milena admits that she had washed it right there, in the darkroom, with imported shampoo that she simply diluted in water. She tells Radka that she can use some of the shampoo herself, but is then upset to find out there is less in the bottle. The two young men are in shock - they used the shampoo instead of the developer.
