It is a hot summer holidays day. Three boys, a little girl and their dog Voříšek all hang about waiting for the shift to end on a housing estate building site so that the workers will leave. Then they sneak through a hole in the fence and search the entire place for beer bottles, so that they can claim the bottle deposit money and buy lemonade. Then they find out that the old watchman is angry with the builders for not returning the bottles. He earns some money on the side by providing drinks for the builders and will lose his deposit for all the bottles that are missing. Voříšek runs around and the watchman catches him. The children decide to go and get their dog and offer to help the old man find the bottles. The watchman is pleased, especially when the boys take his heavy crates all the way to the shop in a handcart. In the evening, the children all go home and their joint forays seem to have lost their meaning.
