A festively laid table crowned with a cake suggests that a distinguished guest is expected. The host cheerfully welcomes the chimpanzee Sammy, who is to celebrate his name day today. The gifts for the honoured "person" are a wristwatch, a lunch and the cake. Although Sammy is pleased by all that he can hardly wait for a game of cards. Upon his insistence, the host agrees and plays cards with him. The chimpanzee Sammy, however, never has enough and the host figures out what to do - they begin to play for things which they have with themselves, and then for their clothing. Sammy has bad luck, and thus loses his watch and, gradually, also most of his clothing. At the end, he gets angry and runs away in fury.
The film was made to order as a by-product to the West German company Schmid Productions München.
