A famous surgeon – the trained chimpanzee Sammy – is expected in the operating theatre, where he intends to carry out a difficult operation on a patient suffering from sausagitis. His intention to operate without anaesthesia is especially sensational, but the patient lies calmly on the operating table and shows no concern as Sammy in turn uses a hammer, chisel, saw, drill and pincers. Finally Sammy lifts up the veil and takes out sausages and frankfurters. The successful doctor-chimpanzee ends the movie happily smoking a cigarette.
The film was a spin-off of a commission for the West German company Schmid Productions Munich.
