A television reporter visits Mr Drobný, an office clerk who answers personal advertisements and dates scores of women. Mr Drobný has been filmed in secret at some of these meetings and even his conversations have been recorded. Mr Drobný is not particularly venturesome or witty in social contact and has not managed to choose the Miss Right even from among an estimated three hundred women that he has dated so far. He archives the women's letters according to their marital status: divorced, single and widows. He chooses his neckties according to the age of the particular woman he dates, and also according to where they live: he wears more colourful patterns for those who come from the countryside. The reporter's questions no longer amuse Mr Drobný, who puts on his pyjamas and goes to bed, turning his back to the camera. In his dream, he sees himself seated at a table at the heart of a meadow. Women wearing different kinds of modern and folk costume gather from all sides and they all feed, caress and wait on him.
