Two young men stand on the side of the highway hitch-hiking but nobody stops. One of them takes fruit from a paper-bag and throws it at the passing cars. A well-to-do man steering his cabriolet stops his car after something smashes against his front windscreen, and starts run after one of the youths. In the meantime, the other youth starts the car and, after his pal jump in, the two drive off. The robbed man, tries to stop the passing cars but to no avail. A truck even knocks him to the ground. In the meantime, the youths have picked up a good-looking blonde. She wants to light a cigarette. As she looks around for a lighter, the girl finds a gun in the car's compartment. The men fail to notice this and, when they pause at a meadow in bloom, they are shocked to see the girl aim the gun at them. She has already taken out all the bullets except for two. She turns it all into a joke, puts the gun against her temple and squeezes the trigger. There is an arid snapping sound and nothing happens. They start to hand the gun over to each other, then press it against their temples and squeeze the trigger. Suddenly there is a shot and one of the youths falls to the ground. The indifferent girl throws flowers on him and then aims at herself. Nothing happens to her and in the meantime the other young man also dies. The girl walks along the highway on her own, wiping her tears, or perhaps it's only the rain that has just started to fall.
