Time-SymphonySynopsis
One day the telephone rings in the flat of a solitary botany professor. A unknown girl has accidentally dialled his number and tells him she is eating a delicious apple. The professor is very pleased with their conversation; he repeats his phone-number to the girl to make sure she has got it, and waits for her to call him again. The next time she calls, the girl is more talkative and tells him her name and phone number. The professor tries to call the girl from a phonebooth in the park but doesn't have the right coin. He speaks to a young woman selling fruit and she kindly changes the money for him. Their eyes meet for a second. The telephone is ringing in vain; the professor cannot take his eyes off the salesgirl, who is eating an apple. It is already evening when he get hold of Monika at home. She tells him she was out selling fruit. The professor realises they have already accidentally met and wants to meet the girl again. But the events of the war interrupted their conversations. Almost five years later, the man finally finds the courage to resume their telephone contact. Monika immediately recognises him by his voice; she is married and has a child, but is undoubtedly pleased that the professor has called her. This seems to be their last conversation and the man asks her to tell him something nice by way of parting. Monika sadly tells him she is eating a delicious apple and hangs up...
