Sudeten groups of ordners (Nazi commandos) armed with shot guns rush through a forest. The Sudeten lands, separated from Czechoslovakia, have already been abandoned by Czech citizens, who suffered from the German terror. A young couple Mary and Hermann live in a lonely cottage, hoping to be safe. Despite Mary's mother was Czech, she speaks German, waiting, together with her husband, for annexation of the territory to Germany. Three ordners enter the house. Asked by her husband, Mary gets each of them a drink. Commander Otto Halke looks friendly, but he starts to harass Mary. In defending her, Hermann is punched and faints... When he comes around, the ordners are gone. Mary is sitting at the table, with her face injured and her dress torn apart. Hermann finds a hidden shot gun and goes out. However, the ordners wait for him in the forest and shoot him dead.
