Markétka lives with her old grandmother, but their living together causes serious problems. Her grandmother cannot bear noisy modern music, nor will she allow Markétka's boyfriend Mirek to come to visit her. Mirek therefore climbs through the window to be with the girl at night and makes off quickly in the morning. Mirek and Markétka don't like the situation, but there is nothing to be done about it because it is so hard to find a flat for themselves. One day Markétka finds her grandmother apparently lifeless in her chair. She is afraid that the old lady has died, but the grandmother comes round after a while. On a free day Markétka and Mirek go on a motorbike trip. The sense of freedom fills them with delight. Mirek accelerates, the bike crashes, and both the young people are dead.
