Ríša, a young man works strenuously, while an ageing Mr. Novák is just hanging around in the factory. In the evening, Ríša is looking over what is going on in the dance hall. He is small and the girl with whom he wants to dance, refuses him. Ríša is offered a new job by his foreman. Ríša makes love with Marie, Novak’s wife, but her husband catches them red-handed.
