A student girl named Petra dances during a jazz-ballet lesson. Her biggest passion is, however, photography. She sends her images to various competitions, desires to have her own solo exhibition and constantly attempts to improve herself in the field. Her roommate Alena earns extra money as a model. She tries to drag Petra out to parties – because youth is so short, isn’t it? Petra’s boyfriend works in a foreign trade and he is always impeccably dressed. He gets the chance to leave for a long business trip abroad, only on the condition that he is married. So he thus asks Petra – who originally attracted him by her natural looks and no make up – to dress more fashionably, wear make-up and generally improve her appearance. He somewhat takes it for granted that Petra would love to marry him anytime. Petra is offended by his behaviour. At a disco, Alena introduces her to a successful photographer Martin. Petra wants him to look at her photographs. The convivial bon vivant invites her to his place and seduces her routinely. The puzzled Petra wants to confess to her boyfriend but then she meets him at a photography exhibition, intimately accompanied by the mondaine Alena.
