The story of the nurse, who struggles hard to get two elderly men into bed and succedes at the end.
A patient dies in a hospital. Two old patients, named Čílek and Pravda, who remain in the room, deal with it in different ways. One puts on a suit and tie over his pyjamas and mourns. The other searches through the abandoned bedside table and greedily pounces on an unfinished roasted chicken leg. But an unmerciful nurse cracks down on the two men equally. She tears the food from the old man’s hand and throws it into the waste basket. The other man is equally rudely stripped off his suit and tie. A painting featuring a deer hunt hangs on the wall. The two old men like it – the animal has a mortal anguish in its eyes – and they prevent the nurse from removing it from the wall. The three people’s movements are like a fight. Although the patients eventually manage to save and hang onto the work of art, it is clear anyway who will always have the upper hand.
