A story about the magic of children's fantasy that collides with the adult world. However, children's fantasy is so powerful that it cannot be overcome even by death.
The girl Lucie is looking through the window to the garden. Her cousins, Áda and Jan, are playing with a shell. She woke him up thanks to a spell. The adults are angry, but it seems as nothing has happened. Despite that, the children have house arrest. Their father Karel is arriving, the brother of Lucie’s mother. The adults soon start quarrelling and the siblings run away to the wood. They have tried following the elements: fire, water and air. Only earth is remaining – a new spell is needed. Lucie advises them of a rhyme and so they are using the designation "black cat" as a warning against her and other adults who could intervene in their game. Jan climbs up high in the tree and he falls down. The frightened mother, uncle Pavel, the aunt and Lucie’s parents run out of the house. They find the boy lying on the ground. His sister puts the shells on him so she can join the game. Áda puts earth on her brother, like a kind of grave covered by shells. When the adults find out, it is too late. No resuscitation helps, nor any rhymes. Jan suffocated in the earth.
