The film captures the extraordinary creative commitment of the production team and the thrilling atmosphere of the making of Jiří Trnka's puppet film A Midsummer Night's Dream. It follows a two-year period of hard work, made more difficult by the decision to shoot in the widescreen format (until then unseen in puppet film) and with the use of new negative raw material and puppet material. It was released in cinemas several months before Trnka's opus as the herald of its uniqueness.
