The basic thread of the film is Jakub’s personal search for his deceased grandfather, the Czech set designer Josef Svoboda (10. 5. 1920 – 8. 4. 2002). The result of the search is imagining this exceptional figure as few knew him. The film is also a unique Czech documentary that delves into the person and work of Josef Svoboda and a unique film in that it features archive footage on Svoboda’s work and private life never before seen by the public.
