Synopsis

During the Spartakiad - nation-wide gymnastics festival - in Prague, little Kája is taken to the shelter for lost children by an elderly boy. Kája does not know where he lives and no one comes to pick him up until late evening. Policeman Doctor Martin thus takes him to his own apartment and puts him to bed. He himself has to leave to solve the case of another missing boy whose parents are abroad and, with colleague Kraus, spends the whole night in an inconsequential investigation. Only in the morning, he manages to find the searched-for boy - the very Kája whose name in fact is Rudla. The grandmother gave the investigators a photograph on which the boy has long hair, while now his hair is cut short. He was taken to the shelter by his brother who did not want to take care for him.
