An old married couple goes to a meadow carrying a wicker basket and a red umbrella. They lie down in grass under a tree and close their eyes. However, the old man is soon hungry. His wife gives him some bread and guinea pepper from the basket. They lie down again but then they stand up and leave. On the way they meet a woman in a long red gown - the Death. They complain to her that they wanted to die together but their wishes have not been fulfilled. A new shot of the meadow. The umbrella and the basket are lying under the tree.
