Old Mrs. Boženka prays for God to protect her husband František. In the meantime, František is in the pub reading his poem "Slow But Getting Weaker" to a group of long-haired youth. He hurries home, but once there he and his wife get in an argument during which he suddenly loses consciousness. Boženka visits František in the hospital and takes care of him, but refuses to bring him his poems, so as not to cause him any excitement. At the cemetery, she takes care of his grave and even forgives him his poetry. Meanwhile at a rock concert, a band plays the old mans texts to a rousing success.
