Summary

The director’s feature film début, based on the short story by Bohumil Hrabal which follows the fate of a strange, aging man, Haňta — a packer of used paper — who loves his lifestyle and his work. He makes packages in the twilight of his press-shed — these are works of art during whose creation he holds a permanent dialogue with his beloved books, their authors and characters. The world around him, however, is changing and Haňta’s time runs out. All that remains is the freedom to choose how to leave.
