The Slavia bank clerk Šembera has just got twins. His colleagues are congratulating him while the old accountant Knotek takes Šembera's account current to the superior. But the work is done badly and the chief clerk scolds Knotek in front of everybody. Knotek meekly defends himself, he doesn't want to spoil it for the newcomer Šembera. But he is really angry in fact, and complains to his only friend - the dog, when he arrives home. He decides to write a letter of explanation to the chief clerk. But Šembera visits him with big words of thanks and buns. Knotek decides not to reveal the fault of the young man. From that time on, he has a halo above his head. The brightly shining halo only causes him problems, though. The doctors at the psychiatric hospital almost torture him to death with their tests. Only the old doctor Vaňásek advises him to try to solve the problem in a slightly different manner: he has just to sin a little. Knotek goes to the office and tells off both Šembera and the chief clerk. He also reveals what really happened with the miscalculations. Finally, his halo disappears and Knotek is the good old accountant again.
